Over one million legal immigrants – and anywhere from 300,000 to 500,000 illegal aliens – enter our country each year.
Most are seeking Legal Permanent Residency (LPR) status or U.S. citizenship, so that they may sponsor visas for multiple family members to come to America. Even adult, non-nuclear, far-extended family members.
In recent years, each new immigrant has sponsored
an average of 3.45 additional immigrants.
And when their U.S.-born children were counted…
…each new immigrant admitted between 1972 and 1997
added 5.3 people to the U.S. population*.
For 45 years, NPG has fought for responsible population and immigration policies – because immigration will be the primary driver of U.S. population growth in as little as 10 years. And a growing population will only mean additional social, economic and environmental problems – for all Americans, and for all the world.
