BASEBALL: AN AMERICAN TRADITION

For two hundred years, “America’s pastime” has brought together various groups for fun and a sense of belonging. Nearly every American has some memory of attending a game as a child. Many played baseball as kids, some even enjoyed the occasional road trip to the closest large city to watch the pros battle it out on the turf field under the lights, and most know the lyrics to the American classic, “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” Baseball invokes powerful memories of American summers, family, and tradition.

Sadly, the sense of community and camaraderie we get from traditions such as baseball are quickly becoming a thing of the past. Many small towns have grown into “booming” cities and the open green fields we once enjoyed are now covered with shopping centers and apartment complexes. How did we get here?

More than 130 million people have been added to the population of the United States since 1970. Projections show we could reach 400 million before 2060 if things do not change.

Negative Population Growth, Inc. is the nation’s premiere organization devoted to the study of U.S. population size and growth. We advocate for a slow and gradual reduction in U.S. population numbers to allow our nation to reach a smaller, truly sustainable size. NPG believes in the ideal of the two-child family, a reduction in legal immigration to no more than 200,000 per year, and an end to illegal immigration.

WE ARE WORKING TO PROTECT OUR NATION FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS,
AND WE HAVE MORE IN COMMON THAN YOU MAY REALIZE.
