A new report from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) reveals that from 2009-2013, an estimated 2.5 million people were added to America’s population of illegal aliens.
According to the report: “The total number of illegal immigrants (11 to 12 million) has held roughly constant in recent years because the number arriving has roughly balanced the number going home or getting legal status.
“This has created the mistaken impression that the problem is largely over.”
The report verifies what NPG has long held: “Had the United States not allowed so many new illegal immigrants to settle in the country since 2009, the total number of illegal immigrants would have fallen by 2.5 million.“
Pro-growth and open-border advocates often claim that – because our nation’s annual estimated rate of illegal immigration is lower than under prior White House administrations – current policies are a success. However, we again agree with the CIS report’s conclusion:
“While the level of new illegal immigration is lower than a decade ago, the enormous ongoing scale of illegal immigration is a clear indication that the United States has not come close to controlling it.“
Another recent Op-Ed which caught my attention was titled “The Population Bomb turned out to be guided missiles.” Author Marty Richman notes: “One would think that the federal government could do… wide-ranging evaluation and use the results to establish a sensible immigration policy, but if you think so you’d be wrong. You never get the truth out of politicians who are afraid of the answer.“
Yet – regardless of the resistance we face…
…NPG continues to distribute the FACTS about overpopulation! |
Recently we sent your exclusive link to NPG’s latest Forum paper, The Other Soil Erosion: Long-Term Erosion of our Productive Farmland Base from U.S. Population Growth. Authored by NPG special advisor Leon Kolankiewicz, the new Forum paper highlights the continued erosion of the long-term productive potential of American farmland… and with it, our food security.
We are also currently proceeding with a project to create a series of three short films – each of which will focus on one area impacted by U.S. population growth. We plan to forward these films to our membership, key contacts in the national media, other interested organizations, educators participating in our NPG Teacher’s Packets program – as well as to the general public through the NPG website and social media pages.
Thanks to the generous support of various foundations and NPG supporters like you – we recently distributed $20,000 in scholarships to talented students across America. Each winning submission presents a powerful window into the overpopulated America these young people fear they are destined to inherit – unless we act NOW to slow, halt, and eventually reverse U.S. population growth!
We are also working to finalize several new NPG Forum papers, which cover topics such as: America’s dwindling water supplies, family preference in chain migration policies, and the economic case for a moratorium on legal immigration.
We appreciate your continued activism and support of NPG. With your help, NPG has become a valued and trusted resource to journalists, researchers, educators, students, and other concerned Americans like you! Together, we will continue our work to slow, halt, and eventually reverse U.S. population growth!
