U.S. Supreme Court Will Rule Soon on White House Executive Amnesty

Months after announcing it would hear the landmark immigration case United States v. Texas, it is expected that the U.S. Supreme Court will decide the fate of President Barack Obama’s controversial DACA and DAPA programs in the weeks ahead. As CNN noted, these programs “…are aimed at allowing millions of undocumented immigrants to apply for programs that could make them eligible for work authorization and associated benefits.”

If the Court greenlights the programs… they will likely go into effect before Obama leaves office.

As we reported last February, a federal judge heard the voices of tens of thousands of NPG supporters – and millions of other concerned Americans – when he placed an injunction against the Obama Administration’s plans. These dangerous programs would grant de facto amnesty to an estimated 9 million illegal aliens!

The White House immediately filed an appeal to overturn this reasonable, responsible injunction – despite the Judge’s ruling that these programs would cause states to “suffer irreparable harm” if this “virtually irreversible” amnesty were to take place! But when the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals denied the administration’s appeal… the White House went directly to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The High Court agreed to hear the case – determining the future of America’s immigration policy.

“‘President Obama’s executive action on immigration represents an unprecedented attempt to expand the power of the executive branch,’ Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement… ‘Rewriting national immigration law requires the full and careful consideration of Congress, and Texas will consider to fight this affront to the rule of law.'”

NPG has long held that current immigration policy is allowing more and more illegal aliens to enter our nation and stay here permanently – despite their flagrant disregard for our laws. The outcome of this lawsuit is of great importance for all Americans who respect the Rule of Law – and who are greatly concerned about immigration-driven population growth!
