OUR NATIONAL PARKS ARE
BEING LOVED TO DEATH
The ever-increasing surge of visitors to America’s national parks is creating a crisis that cannot be ignored. As more than 327 million visitors annually clog limited roads, ignore designated trails, intrude in prohibited areas, set up illegal campsites, and trample vegetation and natural habitats, they are destroying irreplaceable resources and natural treasures.
Adding tens of millions more people to our nation’s population each decade will only make things worse. That is why NPG is working to slow, halt, and eventually reverse America’s population growth. We owe it to future generations to ensure that they will be able to cherish and enjoy the unique experience a national park “getaway” offers.
This advertisement is part of NPG’s 50th Anniversary Public Awareness Campaign. NPG has committed to placing fifty ads in this commemorative year as we pursue our goal to educate more and more Americans regarding population size and growth.
