HELP US WIN THE BATTLE AGAINST SOARING IMMIGRATION NUMBERS
Ask Your Congressman to Support Essential Legislation WT711 As Congress wrestles with the difficult task to rein-in the federal budget deficit it cannot neglect our nation’s soaring population numbers that pose an equally serious threat to America’s future.
Key Members of Congress have taken the initiative to sponsor four bills outlined below that go beyond the amnesty/citizenship debate and, if passed, will correct critical flaws in our nation’s immigration system. Each of these bills will have a huge impact on future U.S. population growth, 80% of which will be driven by immigration. The more we can cut back legal and illegal immigration in the coming years the less social, economic and environmental population-related crises we will inflict on future generations.
Please call your Representative in Congress and ask him/her to support – and even co-sponsor – the following “must pass” bills:
H.R. 140 – Birthright Citizenship Act – this legislation seeks to correct problems with the present policy that grants automatic citizenship to all persons born in the U.S. It redefines which children will be granted citizen status and is aimed at severely scaling back the current 300,000 “anchor babies” born annually to foreign mothers who purposely travel to the U.S. to deliver their babies.
H.R. 692 – Nuclear Family Priority Act – this bill will eliminate the right for new U.S. citizens to bring in their adult siblings and adult children and is focused solely on the reunification of married couples and parents with their young children. If passed, we could see an annual decrease of over 200,000 new immigrants per year.
H.R. 704 – SAFE for America Act – the goal of this legislation is to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to eliminate the current visa “lottery” which grants visas based on pure luck to people from select countries regardless of skills, education or family ties. Doing away with this program would cut legal immigration by 50,000 annually.
H.R. 2164 – Legal Workforce Act – passage of this bill would require all employers nationwide to verify an employee’s identity with federal data via the E-Verify program and ensure that all jobs in the U.S. go to those with valid Social Security numbers. A mandatory E-Verify system would go a long way to eliminate the current enticement for an illegal immigrant to come to the U.S. in the hopes of earning a living while going undetected.
