NPG is excited to introduce a new series of State Profiles. Our goal is to provide you, the reader, with powerful information in an easy-to-read format. Former House Speaker Tip O’Neil popularized (though did not coin) the phrase “All politics is local.” That statement is certainly true when it comes to population, immigration, environmental, and resource issues. Never are problems more evident than when they are present in your own community.

Our broad goal has always been to educate. By providing factual information on various trends associated with population size and growth, NPG reaches a large and growing segment of the American people with our message. In doing so, we are slowly, but assuredly, reversing the tide as families opt to have fewer children and environmental awareness continues to take precedence. Unfortunately, immigration trends over the last few years have completely negated any progress the country has enjoyed with lower birth rates.

NPG will continue to speak out on these trends, and we will also continue to create educational resources for our members and activists to use as they help us expose the serious problems our nation faces. We strongly encourage you to reference these new State Profiles for talking points as you write Letters to the Editor, speak to local politicians, friends, and family, attend local government meetings, and participate in book clubs and other civic groups.
