Negative Population Growth came into existence only two years after the first Earth Day when a group of committed activists sought to ensure that future generations of Americans were not doomed to live, work and raise a family in a nation where too many people overwhelmed our environment and destroyed our quality of life.

As we all take a moment this Earth Day to applaud the giant leaps mankind has made in identifying our environmental challenges and finding positive solutions to them, it is critical to remember that population growth still remains a giant threat to our nation.

Today, with our country on the path to absord nearly 70 million more people in less than 40 years, NPG’s mission remains more formidable than ever. Yet with the help of thousands of members, we continue to expand our educational efforts to reach all Americans – especially today’s young people – regarding the critical need to halt and reverse population growth.

We invite you to celebrate our 50th Anniversary by signing on as our newest member. Your contribution will help us continue to address today’s population challenges, force our nation’s leaders to advance responsible population policies, and build a better future where our children and grandchildren will be able to enjoy a decent quality of life.
