large and growing population.

NPG has worked for 50 years to draw much-needed attention to the link between environmental degradation and the size and
growth of our population. NPG calls for a slow and gradual reduction in U.S. population until we reach a smaller, truly sustainable size – a size that will ensure a decent quality of life for all and be environmentally and economically viable for the long term.
