A Life Devoted to Changing Attitudes on Population Growth
It is with great sadness that NPG announces the passing of our dear friend, author, and consultant, Lindsey Grant. For more than thirty years, Lindsey worked closely with NPG, writing dozens of Forum papers and several books. Lindsey’s vast knowledge of population matters – greatly enhanced by his role as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Environment and Population Affairs within the U.S. government – proved to be an enormous asset to NPG, particularly in our early years. NPG’s late president, Donald W. Mann, had enormous respect for Lindsey’s writing and for his sharp editorial eye. In addition to authoring many papers, Lindsey leveraged his influence to attract new authors who would also contribute to NPG’s catalog of published works, creating a circle of friends that would last for decades. That circle continues to this day, with new writers bringing in fresh perspectives. Lindsey, you will be missed, and we thank you for your many years of dedicated service to NPG.
