The Washington, DC metropolitan area is experiencing notable demographic changes fueled by immigration and aging trends. Recent analysis from WTOP highlights that immigration is the primary force behind the region’s population growth. Michael Bader from Johns Hopkins University and Hamilton Lombard from the University of Virginia emphasize that without immigration, the region’s population trajectory would be negative.
